Storm Water Quality Management Plans (SWQMP)
With several hundred Storm Water Quality Management Plans prepared and approved within the County of San Diego by our staff, KMLT can provide a project with the most cost effective, spatially optimized structural BMPs while meeting all treatment and flow control design standards and requirements of a given municipality. Our team has over a decade of experience designing biofiltration and infiltration basins, underground storage pipes/arches/tanks/vaults, Modular Wetland Systems, tree wells, dry wells and more to meet project stormwater standards. Our professionals actively engage clients in project design to ensure that storm water facilities proposed will integrate smoothly with a given site layout. From standard project to priority development project, KMLT can provide you with a technically proficient, high quality SWQMP report at an affordable price.

Hydromodification Management Plans (HMP)
As a component that may or may not be applicable to your development, if from our mapping and analysis your project warrants the need for a hydromodification management plan, our professionals have the experience and skills to effectively provide project flow control calculations and analysis to effortlessly achieve the approval of a given municipality for storm water compliance. Our team has over a decade of experience developing HMP packages with specific expertise in continuous flow simulation modeling programs such as the San Diego Hydrology Model (SDHM3.1) developed by Clear Creek Solutions and the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM), a product of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Hydrology and Hydraulic Studies
With several hundred hydrology reports/drainage studies prepared by our staff and approved for development projects within the County of San Diego over the past decade, the engineers of our firm can once again provide you with high quality hydrology studies and supporting hydraulic calculations packages at an affordable cost. From small scale rational method level analysis needed for single family developments, to complex multiple acre project sites requiring larger link-node storm water network models, KMLT Engineering has you covered. We are extremely familiar with the different City and County wide hydrology manuals and their respective standards. We implement their required methodology and criteria into all of our hydrology reports and analyses. For larger scale projects, our engineers generate hydraulic models utilizing the Rational Method Hydrosoft Software developed by Advanced Engineering Software (AES). This software was developed by the same authors of the San Diego County Hydrology Manual.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
The entire staff of KMLT is licensed as both Qualified SWPPP Practitioners (QSP) and Qualified SWPPP Developers (QSD). For projects with greater than 1 acre of ground disturbance and are subject to the requirements of Construction General Permit (CGP) , we can provide you with the required risk level determination, project site good house keeping procedures, guidance on the effective use of construction Best Management Practices (BMPs), final stabilization procedures, and everything else outlined in a SWPPP report that our engineers carefully develop. As storm water quality is embedded into the mission of our firm, we ensure that it is incorporated into any of our development projects, and can help aid contractors and developers in effective SWPPP implementation throughout the entirety of the construction process.
